3 is the magic number right?!
Obviously this is super exciting news and I cannot wait to meet another little clan member but I have to confess to being afraid..... very afraid..... however am I going to cope with 3 under 3.5?!
I guess we will find out come February 1st or thereabouts!

Egg Box Bird Masks
Are the holidays in front of you like a blank, rather scary canvas to fill?! One of the reasons I sent Lenny to a nursery not a pre school is because there are no holidays... haa haaaa haaaa (evil laugh)...... Well I am going to try and step up the craft ideas on L&theM over the next few weeks to give some ideas to fill an hour! Today we made egg box bird masks. To be frank it would be better with slightly older kids but I did all the initial cutting with the scalpel (actually on 2nd thoughts maybe a grown up should do this bit for any age!!) but the decoration and flapping our bird wings outside were a massive hit! So get flapping people.....

Nice Ice
I would love to say that my children live without sugar, additives and E numbers but that would be a bare faced lie. A big one. They have far too many biscuits, chuppa chups, haribo.... so when I am feeling particularly guilty I turn to rather more wholesome folk for advice - this recipe is from Gwyneth Paltrow's book It's All Good - lollies with 3 ingredients that are indeed all good. Perfect for sunny treats this weekend.
Disclaimer: Lentil and the Mint takes no responsibility for clothes ruined in the eating of these lollies and highly recommends consuming while naked.
Ingredients
2 Cups of Frozen Fruit
2 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup
1/2 Cup Coconut Milk
Method
Pulse all the ingredients in a food processor and serve immediately or pour into lolly moulds and put in the freezer.

Book Beauty
Here is a corker of a kids book. Lenny has another book called Just Imagine which has very few words and pages packed full of images and you make up your own story and characters - it has been thumbed so much we are on our 2nd copy. This book MAPS is a slightly more grown up version of the same theme. Every country in the world is beautifully illustrated with objects, people, food and animals found in that place. Obviously Lenny (2.5) does not get the geography but he loves spotting different things on the pages and it takes ages - who knows maybe some social geography is sinking in?! The extra bonus is amazon have it on for £8 which is a total bargain - a large hardback collectable book - put it in the present drawer and you will look uber generous!
